Donations from our supporters made it possible to build a guest house.
Located on the same property where we live, the house is
surrounded by beautiful flowers, a rose garden and fresh vegtables that are used
for cooking meals. An avocado tree, mango and papayo trees and various other
fruit trees throughout the grounds provide food.
To find bricks, we had to search for suppliers way out in the bushes of Africa. Using our truck to haul them back to town, several friends and family members helped build the house that includes enough room for at least five people to sleep in (and more on the floor if needed). An outdoor kitchen is nearby that provides a place for out visitor to prepare their meals.
Our guest house if often used by visitors from America—as well as Malawians—including peace corp workers and other organizations. It is also used by Malawians who come to visit and it also proved to be very beneficial for our WE ARE ONE Academy staff retreats.
