As we taveled along the shore of Lake Malawi, we saw many deprived children who were in need of care. Although our funding was low, God opened the door in the fall of 2000 by providing us land to build upon. We started out little by little, brick by brick, until a year and a half later we have a building that could house twelve boys.

God has continued to bless the orphanage which now has a staff that includes a mother and father for the boys, a building and maintenance manager, a grounds manager, a fisherman, a cook and a school teacher! Other villagers are employed to help with fishing, attending animals, expasion projects on the building and food preperation.

In the begining, water for washing was brought from the lake; all drinking water was a good walk away to a shallow well. Recently our supporters have provided us the ability to dig a new well nearby where water is pumped into a huge container. Water pipes connect the container to the orphanage to provide water as needed.
